Innovation and Waste: Hydrothermal Gasification Consolidates in Europe

CADE will take part in the conference “Innovation & déchets – Le marché de la gazéification hydrothermale se développe via les fabricants français et européens”, organized by Biogaz Vallée®.

During the session, international experts will present the advances of one of the most promising technologies for waste recovery: hydrothermal gasification, which can transform a wide range of organic waste into a renewable, low-carbon gas rich in methane, suitable for grid injection after treatment.

A disruptive alternative

Unlike conventional solutions, hydrothermal gasification recovers 100% of the resulting products — water, solids (nitrogen, minerals), and gases (CO₂, H₂) — and has proven effective in eliminating micropollutants, including PFAS, known as “forever chemicals.” These advantages make it the first real alternative to incineration, attracting growing interest from industries, waste managers, and public authorities.

Europe at the forefront

The conference will bring together some of the leading European players driving this technological revolution:

  • TreaTech (Switzerland),

  • CADE (Spain),

  • SUEZ (France).

After launching their first pre-industrial facilities in 2024 in their respective countries, the manufacturers are now sharing experiences, perspectives, and solutions for the rollout of projects in France and across Europe. In this context, SUEZ’s announcement stands out: it will launch its first pre-industrial project in France in 2026.

In addition, the event will serve to officially present the Pôle Gazéification Hydrothermale within Biogaz Vallée®, an initiative that complements the association’s activities around methanization and biogenic CO₂.

A key meeting for the sector

The session will address essential questions for the future of this technology:

  • What results have the first projects shown?

  • What large-scale trials are planned to validate and optimize performance?

  • Which sectors will be the first to benefit from its deployment?

  • What is the roadmap toward 2030 for industrial projects?

An unmissable event for professionals seeking to anticipate trends in the waste and renewable energy markets, as well as explore partnerships with the pioneers of hydrothermal gasification.

Grid Flexibility in the Energy Transition: The Role of Thermal Storage

Energy Transition and New Demands on the Power System The energy transition toward a decarbonized, highly distributed, and digitalized system requires a deep reconfiguration of the traditional electricity system. Furthermore, the massive integration of renewable energy sources with high variability and uncertainty complicates the operational stability of the power grid.

Stress Analysis in FRP/GRP Piping According to ISO 14692 Standard

Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP/GRP) piping is widely used in industries such as oil & gas, water, and chemicals due to its corrosion resistance and reduced weight. However, its design and installation require precise stress analysis to ensure the structural and operational integrity of the system. The ISO 14692 standard provides
