This Wednesday, December 4, at 22:50, don’t miss the premiere of “Megaestructuras: El Bernabéu del siglo XXI” (Megastructures: The 21st-Century Bernabéu) on National Geographic and Disney+ TV, a documentary that offers a unique look at the challenges, solutions and achievements that made this megastructure possible.
CADE played a decisive role in the ATJ project (Automatización del Terreno de Juego, the pitch automation project), acting as technical advisor to Real Madrid C.F. from the early stages of the project (detailed design, tendering of the EPC or turnkey contract) through to construction, where it took on project management (PMT) of the EPC, including the management and supervision of the EPC contract and of the works throughout every phase of the project: manufacturing, supply, installation, commissioning and O&M (Operation and Maintenance) of the system.
This innovative system, unique in the world, is the first retractable, automated playing field, designed to be stored underground in optimal conditions of light, temperature, humidity and fertigation.
A true engineering milestone, it is already the global benchmark for future sports venue and event space projects.
